Bois de Rose is one of the most sought-after woods for guitar-making. It only grows on the African island of Madagascar. Bois de Rose is the French word for Rosewood and is a true rosewood (Dalbergia Maritima). We secured some sets and they were all cut from the same log in Europe. This wood is extremely scarce – and will probably never come up again. Our sets have a very deep burgundy color and have the dark streaks that you find in rosewoods like Brazilian and Madagascan. Like all the premium rosewoods, Bois de Rose adds shimmer, depth and bell-like sustain to a guitar like all the rosewoods. Suggested pairing are Carpathian, German or Swiss Spruce.
