Sapele is similar to Mahogany in tonal qualities. We really like the quilted (AKA Pomelle) figure that this wood can exhibit. A bit denser than mahogany, but has the same great mid range. Set #03 is a once on a lifetime purchase, I’ve never seen a set with this figure, it’s almost as breath-taking as “The Tree” Mahogany.
