Walnut makes a very responsive guitar and is similar to Mahogany, except perhaps a bit more mid-range responsive. The Bastogne and Claro species are well suited to fingerstyle and a flat pick, and make a guitar very responsive to a light touch. North American Black has great bass and overall is great for strumming, a flat pick and fingerstyle.
